I remember studying abroad for a summer in Austria. Toward the middle of my trip, I began feeling touches of homesickness. It was my first time away from home for an extended period of time, by myself. I was surrounded by so many new experiences, new food, a new language that I was remotely conversational in, and unfamiliar faces. It was one of the most enjoyable and overwhelming experiences of my whole life. On the way to my dorm, I would frequent a supermarket almost daily. Browsing the aisles of foods was so comforting. One day I decided to buy myself flowers and place them in a vase on a table in my room. It was so refreshing. That small, intimate dose of nature in my room did wonders to my soul. So buy yourself those beautiful flowers. The energy they emit will refresh your soul too.
2. Vintage Teacups
I love teacups. Takings sips from something so delicate, charming and delightful is sure to bring a moment of serenity to your day. Even if you don’t drink tea. Coffee works in pretty, little teacups as well.
3. A Skincare Routine
Dedicating fifteen minutes nightly to caring for your skin is the ultimate elevation. Moisturize those tired feet, arms and legs. I especially like skincare for the face. I am a firm believer in natural skincare. And it doesn’t have to cost a lot. I use honey, tea and oils in my skincare routine to manage my sensitive skin. Having your own personal routine will set the tone for a peaceful night.
4. Adding Essential Oils to Your Cleaning Products
I DIY my kitchen countertop spray using vinegar and water. I absolutely love adding drops of coconut and lime, jasmine or magnolia in my spray to create a signature scent around the kitchen.
5. Comfortable Bedding
