Just to let you know a little about my background.\u00a0\u00a0I graduated from the University of New Orleans with a BS in Business Administration.\u00a0\u00a0I went from working in a corporate setting very briefly to later starting and owning a thriving business in the wedding industry as one of the top companies in my niche.\u00a0\u00a0 Currently I am still fully involved in my business. This was a perfect transition due to the Christian ministry I am involved in and my very unique family circumstances.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0It continues to provide much-needed flexibility.\u00a0\u00a0 Being in the wedding industry, I use the creative side of my brain on an almost daily basis.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n But I\u2019ve always yearned to tap into the right side of my brain.\u00a0\u00a0The part that is primed to organize and execute intricate problems.\u00a0\u00a0The part that improves logical reasoning.\u00a0\u00a0I\u2019m a little intimidated about all of this, but my excitement for life and learning trumps all of this.\u00a0 I love to read and learn new things.\u00a0\u00a0Language learning isn\u2019t foreign to me. Over the years, I have had exposure to Mandarin Chinese and Spanish, which gives me a little confidence in my decision to learn some aspects of programming.\u00a0\u00a0I will put myself out there and hopefully encourage others to begin their own postponed learning journey.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Being able to document my progress, will enable me to visibly see how far I\u2019ve come.\u00a0\u00a0I hope to share more information right here on my blog and possibly on other channels of connection.\u00a0\u00a0 I also hope that this can be a great reference point for beginners looking into the tech field since I am the ultimate, \u2018wet behind the ears\u2019 beginner! <\/p>\n\n\n\n I am a relatively private person but this blog has motivated me to share some of my experiences with the world and to not be an \u2018island\u2019.\u00a0\u00a0Community is really important for any endeavor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Documenting my coding journey will encourage self-awareness.\u00a0\u00a0A self-aware person comes to realize their strengths and weaknesses and the emotions and feelings attached to these.\u00a0\u00a0This allows for mindfulness and reflection.\u00a0\u00a0 I understand that the programming world is full of noise.\u00a0\u00a0Lots of languages, lots of companies, lots of applications,\u00a0lots\u00a0of boot camps to choose from.\u00a0\u00a0But this is my\u00a0personal\u00a0journey and I have some control of the volume as I navigate through everything.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u00a0I will show up and document.\u00a0\u00a0It reminds me of an article I read by Gary Vaynerchuk entitled \u201cDocument.\u00a0\u00a0Don\u2019t Create\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0Just creating real-life, unfiltered content for your journey is what works.\u00a0\u00a0 My coding journey posts won\u2019t be romantic, perfect, flowery, or specially curated. But they will be my personal experiences for that day or week.\u00a0\u00a0They won\u2019t be your typical content creation type of posts but more \u2018time-stamped\u2019 style, showing my process.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n The keys for me will be practicality and consistency as I embark on this self-taught voyage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I\u2019m excited to see what today, tomorrow, next year, and the next year\u2026you know the rest. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" My long awaited and highly anticipated journey to coding starts right here.<\/p>\n
